Why are carbon stories being collected?

In the lead up to the COP26 summit in November, the North East and Yorkshire Energy Hub is collecting carbon stories to showcase the impressive carbon reduction initiatives from across the region. These carbon stories are intended to highlight the vital work happening across our region as we work towards Net Zero and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

Who are we interested in hearing from?

Across the region, we are aiming to collect 125 carbon stories covering the following categories:

  • Local Government
  • Businesses
  • Community
  • Public (including individual’s stories)
  • Technology
  • Innovation
  • Diversity and Inclusion

What are we looking for?

Carbon stories can cover a project, social enterprise, or joint venture from individuals or from collaborative groups. Any projects covered can either be in pilot stage or fully implemented, and we’re interested in hearing about projects that have both a limited duration and those that are ongoing with an open-ended timeframe. No project is too big or too small, if you’re implementing a carbon saving initiative of any scale, we’re interested in hearing from you!

These carbon stories will be hosted on the Carbon Copy website alongside case studies from across the UK.
